Who developed chemtrain®?
chemtrain® is designed and managed by The REACH Centre, Lancaster University, who are a leading global supplier of chemical and regulatory services to industry.
Why is chemtrain® providing this service?
We have been providing face to face training to clients from around the world for several years. The area of chemicals management training is an ever changing issue, so to respond to this we feel that an online solution to development and technical competence is vital for people to stay ahead in their business. Our experts are world leaders in keeping up to date on developments in the field of chemicals management, particularly as they affect the EU.
Is the chemtrain® payment system secure?
Yes. The database is stored on servers based in the UK and your log in details are encrypted using industry-standard encryption.
How do I know how up to date the information is online?
The courses are written with this in mind. Links are given to receive the very latest regulation updates. Our experts will ensure that the course materials are kept up to date periodically.
How does it work?
The courses are all uploaded into our dedicated virtual learning environment. Upon purchasing a seat on the course you will be emailed a username and password to enable you to login to the moodle user environment where you will be asked for some additional information to set you up on the course. The course is split into units that you are free to choose the order and pace that you work through each one. Most units have video clips that provide the main content and this is supported with documents, weblinks and examples to help you not only understand the information but to really consolidate this into your own unique situation.
How will my achievements on chemtrain® be assessed?
To ensure a high level of competence we also offer an assessment at the end of the majority of courses that require participants to demonstrate a level of understanding of the content covered. If, on completion, you are assessed to reach the required level you will be issued with a Certificate of Training.
What is the duration of the course?
Upon registration on the course each user will have the specified number of days to complete the course and the required assessments. Each course length will vary depending on the subject and at what pace you wish to proceed. We think that the time for training should be left up to the user and think that this is the most flexible way possible to allow learning to take place.
How many people in my business can use the training?
The simple answer is that it is unlimited. Costs depends on the number of users you require. If you have a substantial number of people requiring training then please contact us and we will discuss you requirements.
How do I pay?
You pay online by entering your credit or debit card details into our secure payment page.
Can I repeat the course?
You can repeat the course an endless number of times within the specified duration for that course. After that time you will need to subscribe once again to access the materials.
Does chemtrain® work reliably with all web browser software?
chemtrain® will work with any web browser on any computer. We have tested chemtrain with all major modern browsers - Internet Explorer version 7 and above, Firefox version 3 and above, Chrome and Safari. We can be confident that it works effectively with all of these. For maximum compatibility, security and performance, you should always use the most up-to-date browser software available.
What do I do if I forget my password?

You can enter your email that you registered with and your detals wil be emailed to you. If you have forgotten your password a new one will be created.
